RESC Graduation Plan for 2020

We are announcing our Graduation Plan for the Class of 2020. We understand the the importance of Graduation and the celebration that comes with it. With this in mind, we have worked with the Health Department, DOE, and the Governor's Plan to develop the following plan for graduation. We believe with all the unknown's that this plan allows us to celebrate our Seniors now and then if conditions allow hold a UNIQUE CLASS OF 2020 CELEBRATION IN JULY. We understand the want for a live graduation so we created this two part plan.

Seniors and their Families will be called into the school gym at a scheduled time. The total number of attendees will be limited to 10.

A.) The student will walk across the bridge while Pomp and Circumstance is played,

B.) The student will then walk across the stage and have their name called as they receive their diploma.

C.) During this time Family members can take pictures.

D.) We will be filming each graduate and put together a video to be played and a copy given to each Senior and Family. This video will have the normal speeches etc that are given on graduation day as well.

E.) We will also have a backdrop set-up for a photo opportunity.

F.) We will also take photos of the each student receiving their diploma and will be providing a copy to the students as well.

We will begin this Controlled In-Person Family Graduation on the following Dates and Times.

Please call the school starting Monday May 11, to schedule your 10 minute time slot. The following are the dates and times.

 Tuesday - May 26 12-2:30 and 5 - 8

 Wednesday - May 27 12-2:30 and 5 - 8

 Thursday - May 28 12-2:30 and 5 - 8

 Friday - May 29 12-2:30 and 5 - 8

Note: we are also working on the idea of holding a Senior Parade through town on Saturday May 30 at 2:00. We will get you more specifics on that as they develop.

Part 2 of the plan is to hold a Unique Live Celebration of the class on July 25th. This will either be on the Football Field or In the Gym. Based on the information we have at this time, we will still need to limit guest in attendance and social distancing will need to be enforced. The plan is to have each student wear cap and gowns and be announced as they walk across the stage area and do some of the traditional graduation things such as - lighting of the candles, turning of the tassels, and throwing of the caps. After the ceremony we plan is to have a BBQ Reception following the proper social distancing protocols in place at this time.

Note: Part 2 of our plan is tentative and will be based on what is allowed at the time per the Governor, DOE, and Health Department guidance and mandates in place at that time.

Note: we understand that there are always a few that do not wish to participate in graduation ceremonies. If you are not going to participate, please let us know so we can plan accordingly.

We are excited to announce these plans and feel that it gives us the best way to celebrate and honor our amazing Seniors. Thank you for you support and understanding during this challenging time.
