Two UCJSHS Students Named Top Finalists for Lilly Scholarship

Copy-of-Template--800x450
The Community Foundation of Randolph County (CFRC) has named Union City's Katie Reichard and Derick Williams as two of the top 5 finalists for the 2020 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program.  Katie and Derick will be interviewed individually on October 14 by the scholarship committee.  The results of those interviews will help the scholarship committee determine the final ranking of the five finalists.  By achieving a top 5 ranking, Katie and Derick will be awarded a scholarship through this program.  The final ranking will then determine the scholarship amount each will receive.

Looking further ahead, on October 29, the Community Foundation of Randolph County scholarship committee will submit the results of their scholarship application process to Independent Colleges for approval.  Then, in December, the CFRC scholarship committee will visit the school of the top winner and announce the 2020 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship results.  In other words, with Katie and Derick representing Union City Junior/Senior High School, we have a 40 percent chance that the committee will announce their final results here.  Congratulations to Katie and Derick for the successful results of their committed efforts for excellence!... and looking forward to the strong possibility of having the CFRC committee visit Union City in December!
