🤖🚀 Elementary Robotics: Building Skills for the Future 🚀🤖
Our Elementary Robotics Team wrapped up a fantastic season, and the growth we saw in our students was incredible. After 25 practices and 4 meets, students showed meaningful improvement—not just in robot design and competition performance, but in the real-world skills that will serve them well far beyond robotics.
This program is intentionally about more than robots. Students are developing:
Collaboration – working as a team toward shared goals
Communication – explaining ideas, listening, and problem-solving together
STEM thinking – applying engineering, coding, and design concepts
Resilience – learning from setbacks and continuing to improve
Work ethic – showing up, practicing, revising, and pushing for excellence
📌 Season Highlights
One team finished 3rd overall on state qualification night, missing a state berth by just 1 point in a field with only one qualifying spot.
That team recorded a season-high 47 points in skills driving and 64 points during match play when paired with another school.
We proudly fielded our first all-girls robotics team, an exciting milestone for our program.
We will hold one final practice in May after the new game is released to organize kits, deconstruct robots, and share the 2026–2027 game reveal video—all to spark excitement and momentum for the coming year.
A sincere thank you to those who supported this program through registration and entry fees, as well as team t-shirts. Your investment is helping students build confidence, competence, and future-ready skills at an early age.
This is what career-connected learning looks like—starting early, growing strong, and preparing students for what’s next.

🎓 CLASS OF 2025 GRADUATION SUCCESS 🎓
We are proud to share that Randolph Eastern School Corporation’s Class of 2025 achieved a 95.2% graduation rate, as released this week by the Indiana Department of Education. The link to State Graduation Results can be found here: https://www.in.gov/doe/files/2025-Indiana-State-Graduation-Rate.xlsx.
This places Randolph Eastern among the top-performing districts in our region and reflects the collective effort of our students, families, educators, and community partners who show up every day to support student success.
Graduation rates across the Whitewater Valley are on the rise, and it’s encouraging to see so many area schools making progress—including several with outstanding results. This is a strong reminder of what’s possible when expectations are high and support is strong.
At Randolph Eastern, we remain Powered by Purpose—committed to inspiring, instructing, and supporting every student, every day, and preparing graduates who are ready for what comes next.
👏 Congratulations to the Class of 2025—we are proud of you and excited for your future!

Congratulations!

Randolph Eastern Community:
We are excited to share an update about our elementary school leadership and to thank you for your continued partnership and support. As we move through this transition, our focus remains on providing a stable, caring, and engaging learning environment for every child.
Dr. Betsy Biederstedt will serve as Interim Principal for the spring semester, providing stability, guidance, and support for students, staff, and families. A retired elementary principal with more than 30 years of experience in Indiana schools, Dr. Biederstedt brings deep expertise in instructional leadership, curriculum development, and supporting school communities through times of transition.
At the same time, we are pleased to announce that Tara Bohn will begin serving as Elementary Assistant Principal this semester and will transition into the Principal role for the upcoming school year. Tara brings two decades of experience in education, with a strong background in literacy, instructional leadership, and coaching teachers across classroom, district, and state-level roles.
We are also pleased to share that Brad Hoggatt will step into an Assistant Principal role later this spring as we prepare for the next school year. Brad is a lifelong Union City resident, a 1993 Randolph Eastern graduate, and a dedicated educator who returned home after graduating from Ball State University in 1997 to begin his teaching career. Over the years, he has served students in grades 2–5, taught music, and supported literacy instruction, all while raising three RESC graduates with his wife, Amy. Brad’s deep roots in our community and his commitment to students make him a strong addition to our leadership team.
This transition ensures continuity of leadership, thoughtful planning, and a strong focus on student learning and support. We are grateful to Dr. Biederstedt, Tara Bohn, and Brad Hoggatt for their commitment to our school community and look forward to the positive impact of their leadership.
Thank you for the trust you place in our school each day. Together with our families, we are powered by purpose to inspire, instruct, and support every student, every day.

This week we would like to spotlight Ava Casillas. She is a senior pursuing her dream of working in early childhood education by assisting in the Brave Little Learners Pre-School here at Randolph Eastern. Her parents are Morgan and Pedro Casillas.
