Mr. Zakelj has been working with a group of students during WFW Farms to Tables to build compost bins. The bins not only to provide compost for the school but also measure different composting methods to see which would be the most cost effective and beneficial. Mr. Zakelj and his students have reached out/written grants to the Randolph County Recycling District and received money to build these bins!

The Senior Moments WFW students have been busy planning /creating games and activities for the residents every Wednesday afternoon. Today, students put together a Halloween Party for the residents. Everyone had a great time laughing, building relationships and doing life with each other.

We are so proud of our UC students who spoke at the Lumina Foundation today with the American Academy of Arts and Sciences' Commission on Opportunities After High School. Student voice is crucial, and our students represented us well!

Thank you to Carrie at EVOLVE Winchester for sharing her story and business with our students this morning. This career trip sparked a lot of interest and curiosity that students will look to pursue in the future. If you are interested in hosting a small group of students for a career exploration trip, please reach out to Sarah Black at Union City High School.


UC FFA representatives travelled to the 101st ARBA Convention in Louisville, KY, to compete using rabbits bred and raised in the Agriculture program.

Hannah Woolston placed 13th with one of our home raised Senior California Does.
There were over 200 California rabbits represented. This years convention broke records for number of exhibitors and animals competing!






Mrs. Black is excited to begin a new series that spotlights UC Work-Based Learning students! We appreciate local employers partnering with us as we prepare our students for their futures.
