Kindergarten Experiences - Today was our first “When I Grow Up Wednesday”!
We started by watching a video about a school in Colorado where students helped design their own playground. Inspired by that, we went outside and worked together to clean up our playground using different tools. The students did such a wonderful job working as a team—they were so responsible and took great pride in making our playground look nice! To wrap up, students came inside and created their own designs of what our playground could look like. They had so many creative ideas, and it was a great way to kick off our new Wednesday tradition!

🇺🇸 Proud of Our Students, Honoring Our History 🇺🇸
We couldn’t be prouder of the incredible work being done by the Union City Junior Historical Society! 👏
Through Workforce Wednesday, these students have poured their passion into projects that preserve our community’s history and honor those who’ve shaped it. Their dedication to creating the Veterans Memorial Wall — a lasting tribute to Union City graduates who have served our country — shows heart, courage, and leadership.
But their impact doesn’t stop there. From leading downtown architectural tours and sorting historical archives to organizing community events and capturing oral histories from veterans, these students are bringing our town’s stories to life in meaningful ways.
Their efforts have now been recognized statewide, as the Junior Historical Society was awarded the 2025 Sandi Servaas Memorial Award from Indiana Landmarks. 🏆
This recognition celebrates not just what they’ve accomplished but also the example they’ve set: when students lead, communities grow stronger. 🌟
Congratulations to these students, their advisor Mr. Kyler Purdin, and everyone involved in preserving Union City’s proud history. Your work is inspiring!

Is your student struggling with Math or Science?
Is your student in 6th through 12th grade?
This might be a resource to consider!
